(Thanks Google!)
Johnny I Hardly Knew Ye。
Johnny I Hardly Knew Ye
While goin’ the road to sweet Athy, hurroo, hurroo
While goin’ the road to sweet Athy, hurroo, hurroo
While goin’ the road to sweet Athy
A stick in me hand and a tear in me eye
A doleful damsel I heard cry,
Johnny I hardly knew ye.
With your drums and guns and guns and drums, hurroo, hurroo
With your drums and guns and guns and drums, hurroo, hurroo
With your drums and guns and guns and drums
The enemy nearly slew ye
Oh my darling dear, Ye look so queer
Johnny I hardly knew ye.
Where are the eyes that looked so mild, hurroo, hurroo
Where are the eyes that looked so mild, hurroo, hurroo
Where are the eyes that looked so mild
When my heart you so beguiled
Why did ye scadaddle from me and the child
Oh Johnny, I hardly knew ye.
Where are your legs that used to run, hurroo, hurroo
Where are your legs that used to run, hurroo, hurroo
Where are your legs that used to run
When you went to carry a gun
Indeed your dancing days are done
Oh Johnny, I hardly knew ye.
I’m happy for to see ye home, hurroo, hurroo
I’m happy for to see ye home, hurroo, hurroo
I’m happy for to see ye home
All from the island of Sulloon
So low in the flesh, so high in the bone
Oh Johnny I hardly knew ye.
Ye haven’t an arm, ye haven’t a leg, hurroo, hurroo
Ye haven’t an arm, ye haven’t a leg, hurroo, hurroo
Ye haven’t an arm, ye haven’t a leg
Ye’re an armless, boneless, chickenless egg
Ye’ll have to put with a bowl out to beg
Oh Johnny I hardly knew ye.
They’re rolling out the guns again, hurroo, hurroo
They’re rolling out the guns again, hurroo, hurroo
They’re rolling out the guns again
But they’ll never will take my sons again
No they’ll never will take my sons again
Johnny I’m swearing to ye.
When Johnny Comes Marching Home
When Johnny comes marching home again, Hurrah! Hurrah!
We’ll give him a hearty welcome then, Hurrah! Hurrah!
The men will cheer and the boys will shout
The ladies they will all turn out
And we’ll all feel gay when Johnny comes marching home.
The old church bell will peal with joy, Hurrah! Hurrah!
To welcome home our darling boy, Hurrah! Hurrah!
The village lads and lassies say
With roses they will strew the way
And we’ll all feel gay when Johnny comes marching home.
Get ready for the Jubilee, Hurrah! Hurrah!
We’ll give the hero three times three, Hurrah! Hurrah!
The laurel wreath is ready now
To place upon his loyal brow
And we’ll all feel gay when Johnny comes marching home.
Let love and friendship on that day, Hurrah, hurrah!
Their choicest pleasures then display, Hurrah, hurrah!
And let each one perform some part
To fill with joy the warrior’s heart
And we’ll all feel gay when Johnny comes marching home.
如果一定要找到哪一首“始作俑者”,我能想到的是The Carpenters(对,就是那首无处不在的Yesterday Once More)的This Masquerade。
The End is the Beginning is the End的歌曲是那么的酷,我当时在想如果能弄到唱这首歌的乐队的专辑,能够听整张都是这样曲子的专辑该是件多么过瘾的事情!
The End is the Beginning is the End的出处,通过万能的Wikipedia终于知道我的碎瓜的处女听竟出自一部同样饱受批评的电影——Batman & Robin。
The Beginning Is The End Is The Beginning,旋律和前面的相同但是柔和了许多,电子感十足更接近Adore的风格,但我更爱噪版的、E弦降调的The End is the Beginning is the End。
The End Is The Beginning Is The End
The sewers belch me up
The heavens spit me out
From ethers tragic I am born again
And now I’m with you now
Inside your world of wow
To move in desires made of deadly pretends
Till the end times begin
Is it bright where you are
Have the people changed
Does it make you happy you’re so strange
And in your darkest hour, I hold secrets flame
You can watch the world devoured in it’s pain
Strange
Climb my ribcage to
The replays run for you
Unhook my lights to peek behind the flash
For I am crystal chrome
I am shatter dome
I am kremlin king of angels avenged
To destroy the end
Is it bright where you are
Have the people changed
Does it make you happy you’re so strange
And in your darkest hour, I hold secrets flame
You can watch the world devoured in it’s pain
The zeppelins rain upon us
The guns of love disastrous
A shadow lies amongst you
To defy the future cast
Is it bright where you are
Have the people changed
Does it make you happy you’re so strange
And in your darkest hour, I hold secrets flame
You can watch the world devoured in it’s pain
Strange

Give me a Leonard Cohen afterworld”,随后在铁血摇滚的合辑中听了第一首Leonard Cohen的歌曲的处女听—-Waiting for the miracle,当时的感觉是原来歌也可以唱得这么低。
A Looking in View是Alice in Chains即将在9月发行的新专辑Black Gives Way To Blue中的第一首单曲。相比Jar of Flies和Sap中的风格偏向于民谣实验,A Looking in View回归了重型的吉他riff,前奏一度使我感觉仿佛是一首金属乐歌曲,随着音乐的展开,Alice in Chains独有的特点开始浮现。
Down in the Hole中二者的配合实在是太美妙了。
Layne Staley.
